3. I guess I am just not as sophisticated as you guys...
Because I think he's cute and i love the commercial where he's been put in his crib for riding the dog. And his dumb baby friends are just too much. I think it's just a matter of opinion.

22. I got sick of the Popularity contests so I bolted...
...and then the dems were back in charge of everything and there wasn't really anything to bitch about. LOL So I took some time away. I'm back though, and just mainly reading, but sometimes, I can't resist. And I have to share my puppy news when it happens.
Nice to see you again. :hi:

41. I must not be an intellectual, either
They had to quit showing my favorite E-trade baby commercial after they got sued by Lindsay Lohan.

Milka-WHAT?

I also love the one in which the baby gives the older golfing guy a beatdown at the skins game. Yeah, I loves me some lowbrow humor.

11. Bill Maher had a great new rule about that:
"New rule: no more talking babies. It's not funny now, it wasn't funny then, it never was or will ever be funny."
Seth McFarlane (as Stewie): "Oh give me a fucking break you asshole!"

...and if the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_suicide_and_immortality">quantum immortality hypothesis is correct, the future is only going to get weirder and weirder for you, my friend.

14. I can't recall ever being amused (or swayed) by a commercial with a child
acting as spokesperson for a non-child-related product. And, I'm actively turned off when the adults interacting with the child are presented as dimwits.

I'll bet the people who like those commercials are the same people who let their precious little brats run screaming through nice restaurants and eat off other people's plates... ;)

that I get turned off - like the etrade baby or that kid in the SUV and so on...

19. I think it's funny.
Reason: there's so much saccharine babble about babies being these sweet innocent little angels from heaven that a cynical, rude, potty-mouthed one IS amusing.

I say this as someone who has no particular love for the little squirts. Truth is, some babies ARE future assholes waiting to happen.

36. It's a commercial!
Those babies are cute and innocent too. It's the ad agency, and the writer/director/producer of the commercial that makes them look like the cosa nostra bebe. And the assholes at eTrade that thought it was funny.

21. He's not funny because it's a baby with the personality of smug yuppie douchebag
I'm more annoyed by the self-obsessed asshole daytrader than by a cloyingly cute baby.

Anyway, the point of an ad is to be remembered, not to be cute. The fact that we're discussing it here tells me that it's a successful campaign.

and get the few entry level jobs available in business think that sort of thing is just fucking hilarious.

The Etrade baby is a perfect illustration of the shallowness and absurdity of modern American capitalism...
