3. HEY, my very first not-my-ex-husband's car was a Vega.
It was crap, but I adored it. The first Star Trek movie had just come out and we caled it V'ger.

OK, the story behind the pix is that this is the way these cars were transported. You could ship so many more this way that it helped to keep the price of the car low. The cars were shipped ready to run! The batteries were made with the vent caps on the sides so that they were above the electrolyte whether the battery were upright or on its side. The oil pan had baffles to keep the oil under control whe the car was stood on its nose. I assume the auto trans models had similar fluid control in place. So the cars were driven omto the ramps and then upsie-daisy onto the nose for the train ride. The Vega did have quality issues but some of the engineering was interesting.
