Anyone else here a refugee from a too-right-wing group?
I was on I Dig My Garden, cuz there were a handful (literally) of people who are smart and progressive and interesting.
But I got beat down by the large # who are -not conservative - but wing-nut loony as in 'Glen Beck is so smart', 'Obama is a Muslim Socialist', 'climate change is a crock' etc.
Then there was the large unwashed middle - who are - 'oh it's too hard to figure out, so I'll just hate anyone with an opinion.'
lol
evidence? forget it - of no import.

4. It was horrible and stressful.
Since I've been here, I haven't felt the compulsion to check in there.

It can really make your blood boil to see how f'ing stupid some people are.

Altho I must say, the few good people there are really good and thoughtful and I learned from them. And appreciate them.
I don't understand why they stay there.
Maybe I'll mention DU to them....

5. That sounds like a good number of people I used to play
mafia wars with on facebook. Too many really looney over the top I love Becks and Obama countdown clockers. I quit playing, started posting other stuff and liking political pages and I lost 200 "friends" in a matter of weeks. Hehe...:)

6. I used to post on a physical anthropology blog that was then invaded by racists.
There was lots of interesting stuff there on human genetics, phenotypic diversity, the impact of the environment on physical appearance, the evolution of what used to be called "racial" differences in apperance, etc. Then racists and white supremacists spouting pre-WW2 racialist junk science started spamming the board.

8. I am an ex-Christian.
Had to leave a church because i got sick of being told every sunday that i was a sinful piece of shit just because of original sin and a couple of fruit munching simpletons in a fairy tale.

Made me want to crawl in a hole and die. Made me suicidal.

So I left when they drove me crazy. My mistake was taking their Biblical bullshit opinions seriously. I never should have let their opinion of me affect me.

original sin is a sick, abusive and twisted doctrine to lay on people. It is psychologically quite harmful to millions. We should not give Christianity a pass for this evil doctrine.

Original sin is a non-existent problem and substitutionary atonement is therefore an unnecessary solution to original sin.

I wonder if anyone thinks on this stuff.

This song for instance.
Cats Musical - Memory
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-L6rEm0rnY

I have never been able to get past the part of having to leave people behind, that seems wrong. And that is in the teachings also in a couple verses, so I think on different verses in different ways. Why would a person be asked to leave some behind, it doesn't make sense, it feels wrong.

Funny thing, any way I would explain how I see that song, I know some would see it differently.

What does that mean? And why do I see it that way?

(moonlight is light even in the darkness, since some will just freak on that.)
