Did you get into any scuffles as a kid? I remember two things. Once
a neighbours grandkids accused us of having cut the slits in the fence and so my sister and twin brother ended up in a little dust up with them. My brother was in full viking armour (including helmet with horns) so he didn't get hurt. I told on my siblings and they got into trouble cause they were older than the neighbour's grandkids.

Another time the girl who lived next door had a gang of her friends from a tough neighbourhood over. Somehow they ended up over at our house wanting to rumble with my older brother and his best friend Michael. What these kids didn't count on was that my brother and his pal were nerds from private school and were on the debating team. So while my twin brother and I climbed a tree for safety my older brother and his friends debated away. LOL. I look back on it now and it was a hilarious moment. Nothing ended up happening. The debaters won I guess.

2. Shit at least once a day. Usually the fight started over a dispute regarding a rock fight

4. Oh yeah my brothers used to fight at least once a day. My older brother always got blamed for it.
I remember one teen fight with my sister where I pushed her out of my bedroom and slamed the door...her hand unfortunately was holding onto the moulding of the door frame. She last a nail on her middle finger but it grew back.

3. Once...
...got into a screaming, scratching, hair-pulling fight with a fourth-grade friend. Years later we were friends again until he died at age 30. That's about the only one I remember.

5. A bunch...
I was bullied in school, so I was always getting into fights. I was suspended several times. I remember my mom took me back to school to get me reinstated once, and the vice-principal told her that my fighting would not be tolerated. She looked him right in the eyes and told him that as long as the kids picked on me, I had her permission to beat them up. He was speechless. My mom was so cool. I miss her everyday.

I had several of the bullies follow me home to beat me up. I won some and lost some. I became friends with one of them after I beat him up.

I found out that fighting with these assholes didn't prove a thing to anybody.

I grew up to be a pacifist. Go figure.

6. That is a great story about your mom. Good for you for getting through it. I had
one incident with a bully when he tricked me into going into some bushes and then pretended he had a knife. Then he let me go. I walked home a different way, away from his house, that day. But it was only once so it didn't traumatize me at all.

and had a "lightbulb moment" after a bad hockey fight. Realized fighting was stupid and pointless and never got in another one, ever again, hockey or otherwise.

8. Oh Jesus, I fought all the time. Still do, only not so much physically anymore.
But once in awhile....

Yeah, depending...
