Something that could be funny
Many movies that include wars and battles show the evil side unable to hit a target and for that reason losing a given battle. I cannot imagine that anyone finds this plausible, but the absurdity isn't harnessed to generate laughs.

Why not have scenes showing the source of the error? For example, a military commander in charge of training believes that rifles are bombs and can simply be thrown at the enemy. Thus, when the trained soldiers on the battlefield eventually discover what rifles do, they aren't marksmen.

Why not use some exaggeration? For example, soldiers firing in various directions, but in each case at least 45 degrees from the intended direction.

support thought and feeling and most will figure it out.

'soggy bottom boys'

that is a diaper joke.

It is about telling people that movie is Odyssey for babies, with an insult. The bastards should have those plays taught in schools and shown on tv not used as jokes against people.

2. "most will figure it out"
This thread is about provoking laughter. Getting people to figure things out is either unnecessary because they already figured it out, or merely the means rather than the goal.

5. I would find it entertaining
It is taking another step, more involved AND viewing in a completely different light. It takes a plot device and makes it part of the film. I have accepted that the bad guys are poor marksmen because I tend to hope the good guy won't get hurt, I identify with the good guys. But you could include in your scenario, that the bad guys get brief and inferior training and are less coordinated.

6. Or you can show how the bad guys' weapons company cut corners
and laid off workers in order to increase profits for evil company stockholders.
