I posted a month or more ago about my fear that I was going hyperthyroid. By the end of the thread, I'd decided the problem was something else, I forget what. Since then, I decided in turn that it was diabetes, milk allergy and, uh, the actual cause, dehydration. (I did see a doctor who ruled out diabetes and milk allergy, which helped.) The dehydration is due to the fact that I set up all the furniture I use frequently right under the HVAC vents. Two years ago. And dried out completely every summer and every winter, and never figured out why. Yep, a genius, I am. Who wants to offer fan shui (just like feng shui, only involving moving furniture out from under @$#@%$# ceiling vents) advice? C'mon, it'll be fun!

1. Kudos for sharing that. I think almost everybody has misdiagnosed

themselves and lived to regret it. I once took to heart a remark made by a nurse not to take iron pills as it leads to hemotomachrosis. Big mistake. Given my diet and other factors, I became severely anemic almost to the point of requiring blood transfusions and it took forever to correct the anemia.

2. My discharge diagnosis this week from the hospital included...

...aortic stenosis, which I knew about (a narrowing of the valve and susbsequent decrease in blood flow)..

Believe it or not, what I almost MISSED was a new word tagged on to the end. "Aortic stenosis aneurysm".

Um, Nurse. Where is my doctor RIGHT NOW?!?!?!?

Turns out it was a clerical error -- a misread nomenclature.

I, if anything, all my life have been in denial when something's wrong with me (not so much the last few years).

I think that "mis-diagnosis" was life's way of providing me with a little vindictive BALANCE for that. :rofl:
