Tomorrow´s Headline: "Punxsutawney Phil died after attempting to come out of his burrow to predict whether there would be an early spring and ended up being smothered by 5 feet of snow."

3. Don't drive angry!

How many days did Phil relive?

Despite what Ramis states in the DVD commentary (10 years pass), in an e-mail response to Wolf Gnards, Ramis said "I think the 10-year estimate is too short. It takes at least 10 years to get good at anything, and allotting for the down time and misguided years he spent, it had to be more like 30 or 40 years".

4. I love that scene and that movie!
Interesting stuff about the time passed. I had always tried to figure out how much time in fact had to pass and somewhere above 10 and fewer than 50 years is what I came up with. Between the mastery of the piano and all of the misguided time, and vastly increased wisdom and improved attitude, it would have to be that long.

It's time-loop concept has been referenced as a precursor of Harold Ramis' Groundhog Day. Only instead of reliving a single day, the character finds himself reliving the same 25 year period of his life over and over. (Not giving anything away that you won't read on the back cover.)
