Westoboro Baptist to pickert Ozzy Osbourne (did I spell that right?)
Edited on Sat Jan-22-11 11:08 AM by leftyladyfrommo
I just saw this over on Raw Story. January 22 (last nite?) in Kansas City Fred and the gang were going to picket Ozzy.

That probably would have been something to have first row seat for.

I didn't see anything about it in the paper this morning. Maybe it will be in tomorrow.

Fred's daughters used Crazy Train? Ozzy was pissed off.

Anybody know about this?

10. yep yep
http://www.gay-sd.com/opinion/uncategorized/all-aboard-the-crazy-train/

Either explanation or both might apply to Fred Phelps, leader of the infamous Westboro Baptist Church, but it’s his daughters who recently clambered aboard the crazy train. Margie Phelps represented Westboro at the Supreme Court in the dispute over protests at military funerals, and after, while addressing the press, she and sister Shirley Phelps-Roper broke into song.

They warbled a few lines of a variation on Ozzy Osbourne’s “Crazy Train.” Ozzy declared his displeasure that they used his music to advance “despicable beliefs.”

“I am sickened and disgusted by the use of ‘Crazy Train’ to promote messages of hate and evil by a ‘church,’” Osbourne said.

When the Prince of Darkness looks civilized compared to you, your caboose is loose.

7. I could just see that...
(Phelps protesters are approached by Ozzy)

Ozzy-"MUMBLE MUMBLE FUCKING YUMBLE MUMBLE FUCK MUMBLE!!!"

Ozzy storms off, Phelps protesters have no clue what he said.

8. Ozzy vs. Fred Phelps
Why would Ozzy even bother addressing them? It would be like a clown going to the circus on his day off.

9. Nothing new really..
When I went to the Sabbath reunion show in Seattle in 2001, the god-bots (not Phelps and crew though) were out in force picketing the evil that is Black Sabbath.. and it's been happening pretty much since they went international back in 70...

13. They didn't go.
A whole lot of people there wore "angel" outfits - white robes with big wings. I think the plan was to stand in a row and spread the wings out so that no one could get through. And I think a lot of other people showed up, too, to keep the Phelps people way back out of site.

The end result was that the Phelps clan didn't show up.

There was a review of Ozzy in Kansas City Star this morning - no mention of the Phelps people that I could see.

I just don't get those people. They must just love the attention they get by being obnoxious. For a long time the media in Kansas City wouldn't cover anything about them. Then they started to get national exposure for the stupid, mean stuff they do. Now they show in the paper once in a while. I think they are just embarrassing.

14. Not just that, but
some radio station in the Tucson area agreed to give Fred and his clan free air time to explain their belief system in exchange for them not picketing Christina Green's funeral.

It would be a real shame if Ozzy's crowd turned on them and beat the living shit out of them.

I bet Ozzy will be protesting, too. Loudly, if not intelligibly.
