Yesterday was a tough one.
My sister phoned me to tell me,my niece has a tumor on her pituatary gland. It is benign, but it causing health problems. More tests next week,to see what it's growth is like, and how to deal with it.

Also, last night,I was at my best friends, setting up decorations for her sons birthday party for today. "I have cancer" she whispers. "It's in my breast. The kids don't know yet." I've been through a lot with her, over the years. Her oldest is my godson.

On Thursday next week she finds out her options.

Tougher days ahead,my friends.

2. FWIW, SonIL was diagnosed with a growth on the pituitary
about 3 years ago. He is now quite healthy, takes a couple pills a day. Growth has shrunk, but will probably never go away.

4. I'm sorry, Swede
I have a niece with health problems, and loved ones who have made it through breast cancer. Just be there to listen and help when you can. Those who had breast cancer didn't like me to fuss too much - I just let them know they could call on me if or whenever they needed to; they did let me know what they needed.

6. Ah, best wishes to your niece and friend
I don't know much medically about the pituitary growth, but have had a close family friend and another family member diagnosed with breast cancer this past year. It is a difficult thing, and takes a lot of positive energy on folks' behalf.

Take care. Hugs.

7. We talked more on Saturday.
"I want to be cremated and buried with baby. Make sure now, because my daughter is against cremation." I promised her I would see it done. Her first born died in a car accident many years ago. When she had another son,she asked me to be his godfather. Knowing her and her family is the best thing that has ever happened to me.

11. Yuck.
Good vibes, Swede. They can do a lot about cancer these days, and they are coming up with more options all the time. Hopefully this is treatable and just a good scare to make you both appreciate your friendship more.
