Woman Recreates ‘Last Supper’ With Lint

Laura Bell of Roscommon collected lint from her dryer and fashioned it into a 14-foot-long, 4-foot tall reproduction of the Italian Renaissance painter’s masterpiece.

Bell says she needed about 800 hours to do enough laundry to get the lint, and 200 hours to recreate the mural. She bought towels of the colors she wanted and laundered them separately to get the right shades of lint.

Just because something can be done does not meant it should be done.

5. That's a new one
My sister once drew The Last Supper on an Easter egg with fine-tip watercolor markers. It was amazing.

7. She's got all the neat stuff in it

There was question that the person to the left of Jesus was actually Mary Magdeline, the person was considered very feminine looking and some historians have thought that perhaps Jesus did have a wife but those who wrote the bible didn't want to ruin the illusion of Jesus so they made Mary Magdeline into a former prostitute.

Also they have the knife on the right that doesn't seem to connect to any body.

13. not recycling... really wasteful, actually
if she'd collected the lint from normal laundry use, and dyed it the colors she wanted, that would be one thing. But she bought colored towels, then spent 800 hours washing and drying them to create the colored lint -- wasting all kinds of fresh water and electricity/natural gas.

10. That extra sock from your dryer? Just some lint that has gotten together in the shape of a sock!

12. an environmental disaster...
How much fresh water and energy did she waste doing 800+ loads of laundry just to collect the fucking lint? I'm guessing she didn't use detergent, but it's still horribly wasteful, just to "create" some awful "art" nobody would want in their home.
