3. 3 cats, 2 dogs
I guess I just use the cat's real names unless "dammit" is in front of it.

The dogs have nicknames though.

the border collie: Muppy Pup, Puppy, Fur Ball, Tough Guy, Fierce Puppy, Buddy, border collie, collie of border
better than lassie, best boy (this one is new as he's the only male animal in the house right now, apart from my husband)

the rescued and recovering pointer/german shepherd mix: 'wiggle butt' (her whole body wags  )
'mama' because she had had pups at some point
'goof ball' because she's still figuring out how to live in a house and be an inside dog

7. Five Cats
Sid - alpha male = Sidster, my living plushy toy. He's a serious cuddle bug. :loveya:

Nancy - alpha female and Sid's sister. Tortie. Leather girl. Sometimes likes to play rough. SO imagines her as a biker chick and wants to get her a leather studded collar.

Ziggy Stardus - Grey with little white chest star. Sid and Nancy's love child. :eyes: Ziggs, Zigster. Alarm Clock. Also a plushy toy just like his daddy. Our special time is first thing in the morning. He loves to kiss me awake.

Penolope. Paranoid small delicate-looking tuxedo. Miss Priss. Sid's best GFF.

Jay Gatsby - Grey with white tummy stray that we took in at the beginning of last fall. He was very distant at first but is a total lap hog now. Gatz, Gatster. They other kitties just love him and we do too.

15. I have three dogs
Pippi is called Pip or Pipster.

Bailey is called Bee, Beester, Little Fat Guy, Bee-Boy, Bee-Lee, Little Bee, and variations on that theme. (He's a 125 pound springer spaniel. :o )

Maddy was originally named Madeline Matilda, but then we started calling her Matanuska, Matooska, Tooska, and Toosk. Then one evening my mom called her Mockingbird, so she also gets called Mocker from time to time.

23. No nicknames, since their given names serve as such...
From the litter I rescued over 10 years ago:

BT...Boy Tabby
Baby...Tiny little female, still is after 10+ years.
Noogie...Because his coloring reminds me of nougat.
Elvis (Short for Elvis Purrsley)...He's the King, and the others know it.

And then there's:

Toody...stands for 2 days, which is how long the hubby gave me to find her a new home 2+ years ago.
GiGi...Garage Girl, that's where she likes to spend her time.
Stumpy...showed up on my deck 9 years ago with a broken femur.

And my ferals:

Scarlet...because she had so many litters before I had her neutered that even the vet said she had "been around the block several times".
Tommy...just your typical yellow tabby.
Checkers...A black and white male calico.

Still hoping to trap the last 2, cause the last thing I need in my life is more kitties.

33. My cat's nicknames are more ordinary than their official titles. "Wee Unit A" is called 'Weenit'....
...."The Fearless Tidbitten" answers to 'Tidbit',
"Seven of Four" thinks her name is 'Chubbs' because
that's what my niece calls her when she drops by,
and "Doctor Sinatra" thinks his name is "stop doing that".

Our newest addition is a huge shaggy misshapen & battle-scarred
beast of a tomcat that I have named "FrankenButt".
and we just refer to him as 'Frankie'.

And "BUCK, the Seldom-Seen North American Fur-Bearing Peanut Turtle"
generally just answered to the name 'Buck' when he was here,
G*D rest his soul.

38. We have lots of names we use - fat ass, lazy ass, baby...
Our two eldest dogs passed away - one last year and the other the year before and they were our babies:

Ed - was a collie mix my husband rescued before we met - although she was female her name was Ed. So her nicknames were Eddie-girl, Fat Ass (she was starved as a puppy so she was a good eater with us)

Lienie was my baby - a black lab mix - he loved to play catch: Baby, Little man, Lienie-ball

Our other two dogs -
Jasmine is a black lab mix - her names are Jazz, Jasmina (Jasmeena), whore (awful - but she lays on her back with all her lady parts on display - we only say that to her when no one else is around)

Durango - a german shepherd - Little D, D, Rango

Our cat Scout is called Killer (he has quite a few kills of mice and rabbits), kitty, chunka

All together we just call them Kids rather than rattling off their names.
