A message for all the Quitters in the Lounge.
My wife is on Day Nine...our old Lounge friend Matcom is on Day Ten...and I am on Day Forty-Two...which is SIX WEEKS for those of you playing along at home (and is The Answer for all you Douglas Adams fans out there).

Nine days. Ten days. Forty-two days.

NO SMOKES.

If she, he and I can do it, anyone can. Keep it up.

1. I am at Day 0...but Way to Go!!!
MrG quit for 3 months. He was a pack a day Camel filterless smoker. If he can do that well...what am I still doing with Winstons?

2. Keep it up - and all the best. You are doing a very good thing.
Save the money you would have spent on smokes and buy yourself a nice present after 1 year...
You will have earned it!

3. I'm on day 9,137 - former 3 to 5 pack-a-day smoker. . .
Good wishes for everyone who quits. Of all the addictions I've dealt with over the years, nicotine is by far the hardest to shake. And my use of the present tense is intended - despite 25 years "smoke free," I continue to find myself challenged whenever I catch a whiff. Sometimes it repulses me, other times it entices. Either way, it's my cue to skiddoo.

Congratulations again on your decision, Will. Best of luck to you and the others. I'm sure you'll find it will prove one of the best decisions you ever make.

4. I'm in year 13
it gets easier. But so far, I can't say that the cravings end completely.

My mantra: If you have a cigarette, Bozo, you'll have to repeat all that "quitting" stuff again.

:hi:

6. Can I ask??
Are you going cold turkey or are you taking something??

I'm trying to get my hubby to quit, but it is so hard. He is down to a carton a week. He used to smoke 2 a week, so it's a start.

20. You keep doing what you're doing...best of luck to you, you're doing well
all I'm saying is every time I tried to quit, something happened in my life that stressed me out so badly all I wanted was a cigarette..and if I didn't get that cigarette I became irritable and snapped at people who didn't deserve it.

I don't like feeling so edgy that I actually snap at someone who doesn't deserve that treatment. Best of luck to you

P.S- my post was a joke...I didn't actually light up when I read the OP, it was just a long fucking day is all

15. FANTASTIC job!!!!
.
.
.
:woohoo:
.
.
.
I was smoking 3 packs a day when I quit cold turkey in 1998.
.
.
.
Though it took me two years to work up the nerve (and more
importantly, the proper mindset) to actually NOT have a cigarette.
