I spent New Years Eve in an Arkansas truck stop not far from where Bill Clinton was born.

So I'm kind of dry. If you are coming down the Western Kentucky Parkway, pick up a sixer for me and meet me at the service area. I will reward you handsomely.

Well, you know,if I were there, I would be giving you that sixer!

Alas, I am not.

Happy New Year, sweetie!

6. Some of the years I was in the Army, I lived on the Kentucky/Tennessee border...

...and Sundays were BONE-dry in both states (at least the counties
within even mildly unreasonable driving distance).

We were NOT to be defeated.

We'd designate a coupla drivers and all head down to Nashville (about
70 miles away) and its International Airport terminal, which was exempt
from the local blue laws.
.
.
.
Sit there drinking Pina Coladas, hoping to see Dolly Parton walk around
the corner about 5 minutes before the rest of her would walk around
the corner.

(mumblemumble) ...tell US we can't drink, stoopt mumfrgrs... (mumblemumble)

Last year I was there, they got 'em some civilization and allowed
establishments to sell alcohol on Sundays if a certain percentage
of their sales was food.
