4. I ALWAYS wanted one of those

FINALLY actually saw one at a friend's place in far eastern AZ - really cool hand built house - lots of wood. Had a toilet like that and a bathroom sink built into an old wooden barrel - I think I even have a picture of it (the sink) but it will take a while to load.

Our back bathroom has a tank mounted on the wall that is quite bit higher than the bowl and is connected by a 12 or 18 inch elbow but it isn't a chain pull (and the water connection workings just split from freezing today! arrggghh)

8. German toilets.

When we went to Germany when I was 12 and my sister was 9, we laughed ourselves silly at the German toilets with the little shelf in them.

9. Those things used to drive me crazy!

The only thing I can think of is that they were designed that way in order to avoid a gross 'plop' of water on your butt when the shit hits the liquid. But they look idiotic!
