Have you ever actually seen "folks dressed up like eskimos"?
Chestnuts roasting on an open fire
Jack Frost nipping at your nose
Yuletide carols being sung by a choir
And folks dressed up like eskimos
Everybody knows a turkey and some mistletoe
Help to make the season bright
Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow
Will find it hard to sleep tonight

9. Find comfort in this
The Village Of The Damned was first made in 1960, to reflex the nazi uberman program, and those kids are old now, around Karl Rove's age.

5. Sure, every time the temperature drops below 50F in the S F Bay area
these people break out gear that we wouldn't wear in Maine on the coldest of days.

8. They do that in New Orleans, too.
I've seen people with the hoods up on their fur trimmed parkas...in office buildings!

6. A turkey and some mistletoe???
Trying to makeout with poultry is just nasty, and then having to use the "mistletoe rule" as justification is sad.

12. Depending on what you mean by that definitely
Even if you mean exactly, probably. It's cold in Wisconsin and many people dress accordingly in a variety of materials.

13. I've never even seen snow on Christmas, as far as I know.
Growing up in the South I used to get so mad at all the Christmas songs and shows. Christmas was nothing like all that stuff. I always felt like the North was a bully for stealing Christmas. :)

14. nope, never have....
as a side note, this is my least favorite Christmas song. I turn the radio if it comes on. I really don't like it, but can't explain why...I just don't.

15. I've seen folks dressed up like Eskimos....
Parkas, fur lined hoods and mukluks.
But I've never seen Jack Frost nipping at my or anyone else's nose.

Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow sounds a little scary.
And I've never "known" a turkey, if you get my drift.
Other than that....

All the time. In fact, here folks are not only dressed up like Eskimos, they ARE Eskimos.

(Although the preferred term would be Alutiiq, Yup'ik or Inupiaq.)

19. I saw some Lapps in Kiruna.
Is that close enough?

Besides, these days these lyrics would be more appropriate:

Homeless sleeping by an open fire
Making tea by melting snow
Snuggling in houses of cardboard and tape
And they dine on garbage rich folks throw

Health insurance they will never have.
With used Kleenex, they make due.
And so keeping in mind this is the U S A,
Merry Christmas to you!

When we drive by, watching from our S. U. V.s
We get warm when we see their red eyes glow.
How absurd to say: homelessness makes people sad,
It is plain their frowns are just for show.

And so here’s the deal, you lazy parasites,
If it’s ten degrees or twenty-two
You are free to decide if to freeze or to starve,
Merry Christmas to you!

20. I went to summer camp with an Inuit girl from Nunavut.
Eskimo is considered an outdated term in Canada, but I guess I have seen someone dressed up like that. In t-shirts and jeans, usually. :P
