Raleigh Soccer Tournament (pics)
My daughter played in a tournament last weekend in Raleigh, NC. Got to go as a team chaperone, and it was the first time I'd ever been to that part of the country. Beautiful area, we all really enjoyed it, especially the tours we took of the UNC and Duke campuses. The team did well, they won their first game and tied the second. Unfortunately it snowed Saturday afternoon and evening so the third games for Sunday were canceled. Upside to that was that we got to see the NCAA Women's Championship game between Stanford and Notre Dame. Great experience for the girls to see soccer of that caliber live.

Here's some pics of bluesgirl doing what she loves. :)

1. Very cool!
We're a huge soccer family. I've got three sons who play, a husband who plays/coaches and we host foreign footballers who play for the university here in town during the summer.

My 10 year old just read this over my shoulder and wanted you to know he's the best player on his team. (He actually is.)

3. Tell your son I'd love to see him play.
It's a great sport for boys and girls. My daughter just left to get on the bus for her first HS league game. She's very excited. Game isn't for a couple hours so I'll head out a little later. :)

4. Hey! Pretty cool.
My neighbor's daughters are elite soccer players. I bet the younger one played in this tournament (we live in Raleigh). :hi:

6. It's possible. There were 185 teams from around the country,
The tournament was for the U15, U16, & U17 divisions.

Loved your area! People were very friendly. I guess the snow was kind unusual from what some of the locals told me.

8. Yes, I love the (usually) mild weather here.
Although they are talking about *possible* flurries this weekend. I want my mild sunshiney days back! ;)

5. I don't see how elite that can be - most of those people don't even have faces

(Good for her! And good for you that you have something to share with her...)

9. Great action pics!
Strange players though, with all those blank faces. LOL

She really throws herself into the game, that's so cool!

10. Thanks kimi!
I took up photography when she started playing competitive soccer. It's a great way to be involved (and it helps me keep my mouth shut on the sidelines :) ).

Yeah, those girls really had a hard time seeing where the ball was.
