1. Anyone who appreciates Rick Danko can't be all bad.
You're right. The Last Waltz is the Greatest rock movie ever. Makes having SurroundSound worth it.

2. It makes no Difference...
And if you haven't you must find the complete last waltz. UNCUT. Guests in the right order, over dubs removed and music restored. They actually cut verses from songs (Cripple Creek) and took music off the recordings. Not songs but actual music. Like guitar parts and bass lines.

BTW< I was at eh Last Waltz and the movie is a poor representation of the show. Almost like two different events.

4. That was my first choice too
Went with friends to some little run-down movie theater in San Francisco to see "Last Waltz" when it opened. I've always considered the L.W. version of "It Makes No Difference" to be the best performance in the film, the definitive version of the song, and my all-time favorite Danko performance.

6. I would have loved being there but I was in a tank in
W. Germany freezing my ass off that Thanksgiving. Must of been a great show to have experienced. The film still stands out in the genre.

3. Here's one of Rick's last appearances
performing Twilight at the Woodstock thirty year anniversary concert with Garth Hudson, Lou Marini, and members of Professor Louie's band.

5. RIP Rick
"Music From Big Pink" and "The Band" were pivotal albums for me as a youngster...deeply influenced and shaped my playing right to this day :)
