Why can't I recommend posts from this forum?

6. Actually, for a while it was possible to recommend posts here without any effect:

that is, you could recommend a post, but the only result is that the post showed some recommendations -- without any possibility of moving to the Greatest Page

So a few of the usual suspects stirred up trouble in the lounge by continuing waggishly to recommend posts here -- even though the recommendations did nothing. This being DU, some people's eyeballs were grossly offended by watching the rec counters spin pointlessly on lounge posts -- and some of them complained loudly and often

I think the Admins got tired of the "controversy" and/or misunderstandings surrounding the fact that one could still recommend lounge posts, without having the posts migrate to the Greatest Page -- so finally they also got rid of Impotent-Recommendation-from-Teh-Lounge
