White House says Letterman is a liar.
Last night's show had a segment in which a young boy behind Chimpy had all he could do to stay focused. On CNN today the segment was aired and the White House was quick to respond saying the boy was edited in and he was not really behind Bush. Dave stood by the authenticity of the tape and says it was the White House that was lying (as usual ..... my remarks). The Bushco spin doctors better watch out that they don't bite off more than they can chew this time.

2. Fabulous news!
Great! RoveCo. calls Letterman a liar. Now Dave can do new features with Karl wolfing down junk food while they chortle and make up lies on Kerry to put in ads.

3. Oh for heaven's sake...do these morons think that nobody is going to find
the tape, or that more that one person may have seen it originally??
They are just shameless, not to mention completely out of touch with reality, WTF???

4. The people in the White House have truly lost it.
How stupid can you get. Letterman is going to take the piss out of you no matter what you do so you might as well sit back and take it.

Now they've made it personal.

5. Ooo, I hope Dave
rants about this relentlessly! :)

Geez, isn't the White House *supposed* to be above having to defend itself against comedy bits?.. Not just defending, but making up lies about something as trivial as whether a boy was bored at a campaign event? The people currently occupying the White House are PATHETIC and transparent.

8. What is wrong with them?
What intellectual giant is running the show around there?

They can't stand any hint of criticism, no matter how harmless. So a kid was yawning and checking his watch while Bush was giving a speech. It wasn't the first time. Kids are not meant to stand around for long periods of time listening to political rhetoric.

What's next? Will Rove call out the hounds and attempt to use his character assassanation techniques on this young boy?

9. CNN ran the segment this morning
When Daryl Kagan ran the Letterman, she laughed, and at the time, thought it was real. After the commercial break, she said the WH contacted them and said it was faked. Why should I have been surprised? So the "correction" by the WH occurred just after CNN ran the segment. Talk about thin-skinned asswipes!

I am no fan of Kagan, but at least she found it funny, and wasn't offended like Candy Cowley would have been.

11. What's really funny is
Dumbyass didn't think it was funny.

We're talking about a kid fer cryin' out loud! Kids are not excited by politics or politicians. Kids are excited by X-Box.

13. CNN called Letterman TONIGHT
and said that Daryl misspoke, and that the WH never complained. Now Letterman is all pissed that he ranted and raved about the WH and called the liars but it wasn't true!

Unbelievable!

...so if they can't actually force dave to air pro-* propaganda, then the next best thing is to be damn sure these un-patriotic late-night entertainers don't put anything on the tube that mocks them.

I can't be counted among the Letterman fans, but I'll be watching and hoping that he pounds them on this one.

(lost track of my pronouns there.....shaken, not stirred. Please.)

15. jeezus!
I hate defending Kagan, but I am sure she DID get a call from some Bushie. Their lying liar ways have been projected upon her. Dave should know the WH is lying.

10. Dave should take it the Watergate route
Call it something like "Bored-Kid-Gate" and every night rail againt the coverup being worse than the comedy.

16. Of all the dumbass things to do. Letterman will crucify them

then he'll murderize them then he'll go for the jugular then stomp them for a while then when they come up for air he'll kick them in the teeth.

Then he'll get serious.

17. The Late Show update ......... Dave stands by his claim that
the tape is indeed authentic. Their website comments were recently updated........

Last night we showed a clip of the President giving a speech. Behind him stood a lad who was obviously bored silly. The 14-year-old or so yawned, scratched, yawned, yawned, checked his watch, bent over, stared at the ceiling, and then fell asleep during the President's speech. It was very funny. So funny, in fact, that CNN replayed the clip Tuesday during their broadcasts. But, but, but, the first time is was shown, CNN anchorwoman Daryn Kagan reported that the White House said the clip was a total fake, it was merely the Late Show having fun with their ability to edit and do TV tricks. Dave says what the CNN reporter said was an out and out 100% lie. A couple hours later, CNN anchor person Kyra Phillips reported that the kid was at the speech but not where the Late Show had him. Dave again makes the claim, "That's an out and out absolute 100% lie. That kid was exactly where we said he was." It's true. The speech was at a Florida Rally on March 20th at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. Dave is irked that the White House was trying to make him look like a jerk. But he's glad he got his side of the story out in the open......

I think it's another typical stroke of genius on the part of Bushco to get on the wrong side of Letterman. This should prove interesting.
