I just saw it today, and I thought it was pretty good. It didn't leave out anything major (to me), it didn't significantly change anything from the story, and it was well directed and acted. I thought the shadow-puppet 'Tale of the Three Brothers' was wonderfully creative, and my favorite scene in the book ('Dinner, Nagini') was everything I'd hoped it would be.

I can't wait for Part 2!

SO, where's XemaSab? I know she's probably seen it already :P

2. I've only read through Book 5, so
I didn't know what to expect.

It was dark and intense, with not much relief, not much levity. I know that's how the book must be, but what a contrast with the first book/movie, which had a lot of humor and lighter moments.

Overall, I thought it was well done.

When it ended, I told my daughter, "Well, we've got to wait until July now!"

4. Just got back from seeing it with my daughters
I missed the last one and have not read the books so they had to catch me up. The evil woman at the ministry who was wearing the locket looked just like Pickles! Just saying...she could win a Laura Shrub lookalike contest.

5. I can't wait to see this...
I didn't go to the movies for any of the other ones (I have trouble sitting in that one position for that long) but I might have to go for this one. I only go to the movies maybe 2-3 a year and am very careful in picking what I see, this might make the cut. I also want to see "For Colored Girls"...heard it was fantastic.

6. There'd beter be no *&$&#@!! damned Ewoks in Part 2...
Remember how promising "The Empire Strikes Back" was?

Then :wtf: Irritating little teddy bears??? And from there on George Lucas just got weirder.

But seriously, Deathly Hallows Part I raced by for the length of it, and then, whoa, it's dark, and you have to wait for summer.

I sorta look forward to combined showings of 1 & 2 someday, but part 1 still holds together pretty well as a single movie in the series.

We went to the midnight show and the theater was filled with kids who'd obviously grown up with Harry Potter now thrilled to be there with their friends and not their parents. I have never ever seen so many little electronic screens lighting up before a movie. Every kid was texting or talking before the movie started, even trough some of the previews. (Yogi Bear, anyone?) But everyone was well behaved during the movie, especially for kids that age.

7. I saw it!
Even though I just saw it a few nights ago, I think it was the best of the HP movies.

The pacing was really nice.
