Any sheet metal workers here?
I just finished a 3 month basic aviation sheet metal coarse yesterday, and am now pursuing a job at the Coast Guard base or anywhere local as an apprentice. Wish me luck! BTW here's some pics of a couple projects from the class I made.

1. Not I but...
if you have the skills and the ingenuity to make decorative and household items, you could possible make and sell pieces either as artisan works or on someplace like etsy. Smaller items might be a place to start: simple boxes, containers, etc. Just an idea how you can use your skills to make some dough on the side. Work your way up to bigger works since it's a medium where scale is not a huge factor in terms of labor. For example, if I were not broke I'd love a writing desk fabricated and stylized to to look like the fuselage of a plane. (No idea what to use for a desk top though.)

It would bring back memories. My parents were both skilled labor for Pratt and Whitney growing up and I used to love open house day when workers were allowed to bring in their families to show off the place and the company. (They have a lab where they fling frozen turkeys through running jet engines with a ballista of sorts to simulate high-velocity large birdstrike!)

Oh, Ptah does metalworking but I think he's into wrought iron. Likewise, Orrex makes decorative mail (like chainmail, from drawn wire.)
