Have something akin to a cassoulet in the oven right now. The house is toasty and it smells delightful.

1. I agree!
Cooking when it is cold is the best!

2. Running the oven all day when it's 80 degrees out isn't that appealing!

3. Exactly. But running it when it's 30 degrees out is AWESOME!
I'm starting to drool at the smells coming from my kitchen.

4. I'm actually looking forward to cooking Thanksgiving for precisely that reason.

6. Oh hells yeah. One of the best smells in the world is a kitchen full of Thanksgiving goodness.
I look forward to the day when we can have Thanksgiving at our house for once.

7. Chili here
I can rattle off our different chili choices the way Bubba could rattle off all the different ways to cook shrimp. Chicken chili, white chicken chili, chili with hamburger, chili with beans, vegetarian chili, "bowl o' red" with nothing but sirloin...

8. I'll be making that probably over the weekend. Black bean chili.
I might do that in the slow cooker though.
