Update: the timing belt is changed! Ask me anything!
I had no parts left over and no holes unfilled. It started on the first crank, too.

:woohoo:

I'm just glad the engine wasn't an interference engine. Just change the belt and back in action!

Even the weather cooperated. It was warm and balmy here while I was doing this, instead of frigid.

1. Congratulations

I sort of forget - BILs car?

Is whoever's-car-it-is going to do something nice for you for fixing their car for them?

6. I started Thursday last week, finished yesterday.
I worked on and off, depending on my work schedule and the weather. And I lost a day when I needed to get the alignment kit. Carquest is closed on Sundays. Go figure that one out.

I wasn't using a manual, just the directions that came with the timing belt kit. I probably could have done it in a single day in the summertime if I had all the stuff handy and plenty of daylight.

Learning curve. I could probaby do it in 5 hours if I had to do it tomorrow!

7. Oh yeah. Hands, face, shirt, pants, headphones.
It's not that much of a greasy job, but there's some gunk here and there. And you have to take off the valve cover and play with the camshafts, and those are all oily.

But hey, it saves tons of money.
