1. Homemade split pea soup and fresh baked bread here.
Our weather here in Seattle is rainy and cold, so pea soup and fresh bread were a request.

10. Andersen's was my favorite soup growing up.
Loved it. Then I decided to try making it from scratch and haven't gone back.

2. Three things:
.
.
.
1. No shrimp?
.
.
.
2. I love limas... what are "Spanish-sized limas"?
.
.
.
3. I used to lurv lurv LURV chorizo until I read the ingredients (the
manufacturers are honest to a fucking FAULT). The only "veggie meat"
I like now is Soyrizo -- they do a pretty good job with taste AND
texture... and I don't have to think about faces and anuses and
stuff (yeah, I know... but they don't put it on the damn LABEL!!!).
.
.

3. 1 - I am allergic to shrimp :(
And I fracken LOVE shrimp!

2 - Spanish Sized Limas are about 4x as big as regular limas. And yes, they're very good!

3 - They should make a Spanish Soyrizo. There is definitely a different taste. Yeah, its yukky stuff, but it's the spice, not the meat that makes it.

6. It is Spanish, sir
I made a point - there is a Spanish Meat seller who gets his 'Spanish Chorizo' for the Bay.

Do you see why I never want to leave this place???

7. I hope you have some anise liquor as a digestive
that stuff is pretty heavy on your belly.

Trust me, I've had them both; the fabada and the paella Asturiana.

You need something after the meal to help the digestion.

12. I've had them. Good choice!
but the point about anise is that it is low volume.

Which is almost essential, after consuming large quantities of paella, or fabada.

I think you are now in a position to speak with authority.

14. We had cedar planked maple salmon on a bed of rice with currants and roasted
root vegetables covered with onions. All of it from the shop across the street. I'm so lucky.
