I thought Wayne's World took place in Illinois or Wisconsin. What the heck does it have to do with Delaware?? You know we had other much more memorable movies that were a part of Delaware. Why not "Fight Club"? Or "Dead Poet's Society"? How about "Beloved"? Heck I would have been happy with "Survival of the Dead" - at least there was a fictional island off the coast of Delaware free of Zombies!

:grr:

1. "Southern Comfort" for Louisiana?
Um, "A Streetcar Named Desire", "Steel Magnolias", hell, even "The Big Easy"!

And "Fast Times" only represents SoCal. There are about three brazillion movies set in SF alone.

4. I just read the storyline of "Southern Comfort" - sounds like "Deliverance" in the Bayou
Ironically "Deliverance" was the movie of choice for Georgia.

12. From inland central CA: "American Graffiti"
Might make a good state movie in the same way that "Lodi" has been suggested as the unofficial state song. :-)

Edited on Fri Nov-12-10 04:32 PM by charlie and algernon
And breathe a big sigh of relief they didn't choose any one of M. Night's movies for PA.

7. Way too many Kevin Costner movies on that list. And I'd pick Blue Velvet for NC
Bull Durham could have taken place anywhere.

Blue Velvet captures North Carolina's unique brand of craziness.

8. Fargo is in ND, not MN.
Edited on Fri Nov-12-10 05:50 PM by Lucian
I know the movie itself takes place in Minnesota, but the city of Fargo is in North Dakota.

Idiots.

They should've picked "Grumpy Old Men" or something like that.

9. It's wrong. Wayne's World only made FUN of Deleware
They lived in Illinois, even though it was filmed in LA

13. It could be worse - my home state of WI got "American Movie".
What the fuck is that about?

It's like the ignorant fuckstains that put the list together were born in 1985 and have no conception that movies were made before they were born.

14. "Glory" for South Carolina? That's the best they could do?
I can't believe they didn't choose a film based on one of Pat Conroy's novels, like "The Great Santini", "Conrack", or "The Prince of Tides". Hell, even "Shag" is more fitting

And, yes, "Wayne's World" took place in suburban Chicago. I don't get the Delaware connection, either.

18. Why don't Illinois or Nebraska have a movie?
I don't know anything about Nebraska, but there must have been a number of movies set in Illinois, Chicago alone. Was Something About Mary in RI? That's what it says, but I didn't know that. There have been a number of movies in Massachusetts and they gave us The Departed. Cool!

19. If Illinois were to have an official movie, it would be
The Blues Brothers.

Or perhaps a double-feature with Ferris Bueller. He's a righteous dude.

24. Of all the flicks that take place in FL, they
pick Scarface? Why not Key Largo, or something more classic? Well, at least Scarface is butch, unlike, oh ... Wayne's World ....
