Is P90X even worth attempting if you're not already an athlete?

I look at the exercises during the infomercials, and I think I'd be lucky to be able to do one rep of some of the things they do.

1. From what I can tell, yes.

If you're willing to work hard, because it looks like a tough routine. I have a copy of it someone gave me, but haven't tried it yet. Having looked at some of the videos, they don't care that you can only do one rep. They don't expect you to be in great shape at the onset. The whole point is to get to that point, not start there. It's about improving over time, which is what any workout regime should be about. They have modifications for each exercise, based on your abilities and goals.
