sigh... my cat's a dinkus.

The first two things she caught and came running in with, using that "I caught something" meow, were paper towels.

Now she's graduated to worms. She brought one in a week ago, and then last night, she was outside the front door making that noise. She had another worm. To her credit, it was a really big worm....

I don't let mine outside. I'd love to hear that meow, though. :)

2. She caught her prey

and she's bringing it to you to share the kill......

3. I know, I know...

but worms? Won't the other cats laugh at her?

She's my fifth cat, and the FIRST to catch paper towels and/or worms.

The other night, one of my other guys, Rudy, came in with the same meow. I saw he had something in his mouth. The usual panic ensued - turn on the light, look closely, and hope it's not gory. He had a toy mouse in his mouth.

The odd part, is it wasn't one of HIS toy mice. He must've stolen it from somewhere.

At least my oldest guy brings in real gophers, mice and moles.

4. My brother-in-law's beloved cat from when he was a kid

used to go down to the corner store, stalk the feather duster, ATTACK IT, run out the door with it and drag it to his house about 5 doors away. Cat did it at least once a week, and everyone got such a kick out of it they never moved the duster, or scolded the cat.

My first kitty child hasn't got the hang of hunting, really. She's big into catch-and-release, of which I approve greatly (unless the mouse is dropped right at my feet). She never seems to hurt the critters, just scares the bejesus outta them.

I have one big female who's a formidable mouser, and our recently adopted semi-feral baby brought me a dead chipmunk, poor little striped bugger. I understand that KittyGrrl was sharing with her new family, but still. :cry:

It's so cute! Hehehe. My cats attack everything: birds, chipmunks, mice, bugs, squirrels, and each other.

6. Our cat, Loretta, one time slew a green bean.

7. One of mine caught a Mourning (sp?) Dove this AM.

Luckily, my daughter was on the scene and took her shoe off, threw it, and nailed the cat in the head....bird flew off unharmed.

8. Hell...

*I* could catch a mourning dove. Stupidest birds ever.

9. Havoc loved geckos and practical jokes.

When Smudge was getting on in years, she slowed down and Havoc thought she was getting boring. One afternoon, while old Smudge was napping in the living room, Havoc brought in a gecko. He set it down very carefully, about 2 inches from Smudge's hind end. He looked the situation over, raised a mighty paw (Havie was a BIG cat) and smacked that paw down, just behind the gecko. Gecko dove for the cover of what he thought was a rock. It was Smudge. She went about 12 inches straight up.

Took her a month, but she did get even with Havoc. Heh heh heh

Gecko was unharmed, as per usual with Havoc.

10. One of mine had a gigantic nightcrawler the other day

the really puzzling thing about it is that my cats don't go outside. Where the hell did he get a nightcrawler???

He was colossally pissed when I took away his prey and put it in the garden, too.

11. My Rosie brings me bubble-wrap, loose socks, and toothbrushes...

She's a Siamese, and very talkative, so her "caught-it" war-cry sounds like a baby riding over a bumpy road: "YaaaaYaaaaYaaaaYaaaaYaaaa!"

And a mighty huntress she is! :)
