There are three books before and one book after Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and I think seeing more of that story would be the bee's knees.

Put the setting in an Applebees or something where they're eating meals with more trans fats than you can count, pounding back drinks, talking about second mortgages and retirement accounts, and have Bender fire up a doobie right there in the restaurant.
