and then the list of banned sci-fi. Most of these were staples of my teen years and likely created the questioning and analytical person that I am today. Sad to think of people (book banners/burners) who are so frightened of ideas, and thereby manage to miss the point of most of the books. :( :banghead:

After seeing Frankenstein as a child, I pretty much read everything by Mary Shelley.

Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick
His most popular novel, in part due to Blade Runner.

Triplanetary by E.E. "Doc" Smith
The first Lensman novel? Of course!

Dhalgren by Samuel R. Delany
Read most of Delany's stuff.

Brave New World by Aldous Huxley
Required reading in school

Lord Of The Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien
Duh...
