3. One of my cats chews through cables.
In his destructive way of getting my attention, he has ruined 2 computer keyboards, 3 mouses, 1 laptop power cord, 1 lamp, and several speaker cables. The USB cable to my Wacom tablet is chewed through in several places but it still works.

He chews the ends of our persian blinds, so we have them permanently raised, with the cords rolled-up and out of the way.

He also gets himself into trouble sometimes, like the time he jumped into the empty corner between two 7-foot bookshelves positioned to form an "L". I came home one day and couldn't find him, so I looked everywhere. It was when I started to panic that I noticed his brother, sitting quietly, looking at the bookshelf. I had not thought to look there.

Over the next few days, he jumped in that 1'x1'x7' void 3 more times, each time moving the obstacles we placed there. Each time, the bookshelves had to be unfastened, partially emptied and moved. Finally, my husband cut a piece of plywood to fit the opening and attached it with screws.

He's still naughty (his nickname is "Intheway") but he is settling down as he gets older.

5. He also has the habit of blindly jumping in
Edited on Wed Oct-13-10 11:54 AM by VioletLake
every time we open a door, so we have to watch out for him. He jumps in kitchen cabinets, closets, the dishwasher, washer & dryer, and out doors.

He is naughty in proportion to how cute and affectionate he is.
