Have you ever picked up something and didn't know what it was but put it in your mouth anyway?
I just picked up something off my desk I thought was an errant sliver of chocolate from a protein bar I was just eating. So I picked it up and chewed on it for a sec. I don't know what the heck it was, but after determining it wasn't a sliver of chocolate, I spit it out in disgust.

You know, when I was a young child, in Catholic school, someone left a salt packet under my desk. And I broke it open and tasted it. A great little girl, I wonder where she is now, made it a point to schreech out how gross that was, and the entire class looked at me like I was some nasty visitor from Mars. Traumatic for me at the time, but I didn't see the big deal then, and I still don't.

So, yeah, I found this thing on my desk, and, pretty sure of what it was, I put it in my mouth.

Does that make me some weirdo?

Wait, I just spotted this. I'm almost certain this is chocolate. Hang on a sec...

1. I remember going out into the hallway of my Montessori preschool. I found
a huge wad of gum on the steps. I started to chew it. My teacher, Mrs Rangachangacherri, came out and saw me eating gum. She asked me where I got it. I pointed to the step and she made me spit it out. Dam I was sorry.

2. I'm just the opposite
Even if I really am sure of what it is, once it's off of safe territory (plate, mouth, fork) it's going in the trash.

You probably have a good immune system from all that challenge, though.

3. I was building a vacuum table
While looking for fittings at a industrial liquidation store I found a blue anodized elbow with the right thread patterns. I put it to my mouth to blow through it to make sure it was clear. Instantly I had an over whelming metallic taste and smell. My tongue started tingling, and within seconds it felt like my hands and feet were vibrating. I was positive I was going to die before I reached the end of the isle.

I ended up paying for the parts, with the intention of driving myself to the hospital. By the time I got to my car I felt better, but it took the remainder of the day for the metallic taste to go away.

I don't think I'll ever do that again.

5. Oh, man.
For a second there, I thought LFP was back...lol.

To answer your question, Yep. I've done it. Sometimes my Eat It reflex is faster than my Wait A Second reflex.
