Gilbert Gottfried Roasts Greg Giraldo -- Too Soon?!
Just hours after Greg Giraldo passed away, one of his former Roast-mates -- Gilbert Gottfried -- was already making a joke out of the situation ... but did he go too far?!

I won't post here what he said (but here's a link: http://www.tmz.com/2010/09/29/greg-giraldo-dead-gilbert-gottfried-roast-twitter ) since some might find it offensive - I found it hilarious but I like that dark humor.

4. Agreed.
This is the first funny thing Gilbert Gottfried has said in this century. A fitting tribute to his friend and colleague.

2. That's funny! People who get upset about things like this should find a life.

5. I imagine that's the tribute he'd have liked the best. Make 'em laugh, or cringe!

6. It's exactly what Giraldo would have wanted.
it's a fitting tribute to someone who was so involved with comedic roasts.

7. I can't stomach his voice, so I will just hope Greg would've
found it funny. He did make his living taking jabs at people. I just hope that his family can find humor as well. He had children you know... It is those who are left to deal with the jabs, etc.

8. I haven't clicked on the link yet, but I plan to....
I just want to say that in this case it's appropriate because I think that's what Greg Giraldo would have wanted. His family might want to hear it though and that would be completely understandable too.

9. Frankly, I expected something a little classier from Gilbert Gottfried
(make sure you've read the subject line to this post in a creaking, nasally, high-pitched Aflac duck voice)

.

10. I went to the link thinking it'd be a sentimental joke but..
It wasn't even really a joke...it was a tacky response. I heard crickets chirping.

11. It was Giraldo's humor, and as a result, the ultimate tribute...whether people get it or not
I posted a thread in the Lounge yesterday with 9 Giraldo YouTube clips that Huffington Post assembled from the Comedy Central roasts.

There's stuff he said in those clips that makes Gottfried's remark sound like "Gee, Greg was a nice guy, and gosh, will I miss him." He was brutal, ruthless, he made fun of every disease you can imagine. Gottfried just held up a mirror to the comedian and his body of work.

12. Whenever someone says a joke is 'too soon'
they need to be smacked.

13. Not too soon, just too obvious to be funny.
I mean really: "Cremated"! "Roast"! get it?!?! huh huh?

After that build-up I was expecting something Aristocrats-caliber.

14. I liked his follow up to it
"We spoke to Gilbert about the tweet ... who told us he has problems expressing his emotions -- but noted, "Greg can't say anything about it now ... I'm not worried about him calling and complaining." -- http://www.tmz.com/2010/09/29/greg-giraldo-dead-gilbert-gottfried-roast-twitter

hehe
