Make sure you have some tissues handy.

A Father, Daughter & a Dog

“Watch out! You nearly broad sided that car!” My father yelled at me. “Can’t you do anything right?”

Those words hurt worse than blows. I turned my head toward the elderly man in the seat beside me, daring me to challenge him. A lump rose in my throat as I averted my eyes. I wasn’t prepared for another battle.

“I saw the car, Dad . Please don’t yell at me when I’m driving…”

My voice was measured and steady, sounding far calmer than I really felt.....

1. I don't believe one word of this story, not one word.
I have 2 dogs, always have had dogs...this is a fake fundraiser story and it is like all the others I get.

3. It occured to me it might be fiction
but who cares? it could happen. It's well known that animals can help older people and children who have psychologically (or physically) shut down.
If a story inspires someone to adopt a pet, or donate to a shelter, it's ok by me. ;)

4. There are enough true stories without making one up.

2. Thanks, that is a great story.
I needed the tissue as she was walking through the pound.
The dog and man ending up together seems serendipitous- I'm so glad the woman thought of that article just in time!
