L.A.'s summer that never was strikes again.
An Atlas rocked launched about 2 minutes ago from Vandenberg A.F.B. about 100 miles to the north. I finally remember the launch window, and of course the skies are overcast, again. This is the coolest summer I can remember. Usually in mid Sept the weather is warm and sunny, but not this year.

1. And Oh my GOSH
the water is freaking cold, averaging about 57 degrees here in Newport Harbor, makes for very cold diving. A few weeks ago we were out off Laguna Beach and the water temp was 54 degrees. :scared: Glad I have a thick wetsuit. On the up-side though the cold waters make for great whale watching. Numerous blue whales have been hanging around the Redondo Beach area.

2. My dear denbot...
It has been a strange summer...so overcast all day. I cannot remember a summer this cloudy since 1969.

We had maybe one week of real summer weather.

:hi:

3. well, you guys stole all our cool weather.
The rest of the country sweltered.

We had a near record heat summer here in the DC area, and we might break the most days above 90 record later this week.

5. It was so gloomy today. I'm scheduled to go to Avalon next week.
Cold. And again in December. It will be so cold. I have been to Avalon in December before, oh, it is cold.
But maybe the winter will be all warm to make up for the summer?
I went to Yosemite last week. Nice, not hot, not cold. Just right. But totally sunny.
