Anyone have a new Kenmore gas stove?
Does it vent a lot of oven heat into your kitchen? We'll be returning a new GE range because we can't use the kitchen when the oven's on. Thanks.

but I have no external vent in the kitchen

good in the winter, sucks in the summer - we just avoid using it - crock pot, grill outside, bread machine, stove top only, etc

It looks as if we'll just be making the best of the situation, then. Odd that our old stove didn't pump nearly the heat of the new one.

just kidding - probably it was better insulated and just released the heat slower and you noticed less

5. Ours is about five years old.
Never had any problem with it overheating the kitchen and my husband bakes bread two to three times a week.

We can't rely on brand names anymore. We have to do our home work for a major purchase -- consumer reports, consumer reviews, etc.

According to hubby lot of Sears stuff is now being made in Korea by a mega outfit called L.G. Much of its product is top of the line, others POS. Research always research.

8. I have a GE tabletop oven that is a piece of junk.
It doesn't get up to temp -- not over 325 even when the dial is set at 450. And it's very hot on the outside. Hot enough to get burned. It takes about 12 minutes to make a piece of toast in it.

11. We've got a Blue Star - home version of a Garland.
Throws out an amazing amount of heat even with the hood running and the kitchen window open for air flow.

I've had it for 3 years and even in the depths of a Philadelphia winter the kitchen can be crazy hot.

Go figure. Those are supposed to be really good stoves, too.

13. we have a Whirlpool- it does get a bit warm in the summer when you use it
but we don't use it that much in the summer. I don't remember if the old gas range was that hot...
