Big sigh of relief
I made a delivery to a place over in Portland, Oregon the other day that had 5 bills of lading. When a receiver is finished unloading they are supposed to sign the bills and give you a copy. When they were done with my load they gave me back the paperwork and I just assumed everything was there.

So, here I am in Deer Lodge, Montana and I got a call from corporate saying that all of my bills aren't there for that load. We send in the bills by something called Transflo which is basically a combination of a fax and scanner. I went digging through my paperwork and could not find the bill that they were looking for. My heart sank. If I don't get those bills back to them, I don't get paid and I might get hit with a cargo claim. That load represents almost a week's worth of work. My deductible for cargo claims is $1500.

Fortunately, we were able to get a hold of that receiver and they had a copy of the missing bill. Whew!

They say you learn something new every day out here on the road. I've had my lesson for the day. :)

4. I had a paperwork glitch today too
walked out of a specialist's office (having been properly referred there by the primary doctor) after discussing going to a surgeon for something, and didn't get a referral from them, primary care says the specialist needs to do it, the insurance says the specialist needs to do it, they say the primary doc needs to do it. First thing Monday I will have to get on somebody's ass to straighten this out.

How sick people struggle through the bullshit is absolutely beyond me.
