1. Hi Cap'n---Great one, thanks
Just woke up after an hour of sleep; air conditioner crapped out (and it's still summer here; gonna be about 90 again tomorrow)...anyway, got all the fans on full blast trying to get the place cool enough to go back to sleep and decided to kill a few minutes waiting for the place to cool off by checking in on the lounge, and what do I find but a song sent out for me from my fellow hippie/radical/commie/socialist/marxist/muslin what also blows him some harp....Hadn't realized Ryland P. Cooder was on this either...Opened for Taj once, but didn't get to meet him... a lot of people had gotten backstage and seemed to be really bugging him ( a commentary on them, not him) and I decided not to be one more person bothering him.
And in yet another odd bit of DU synchronicity with how you decided to title this post, I've been thinking all day about whether to go see a concert this weekend that I just found out about, by a guy whose wife I had a little fling with not long before they got married ( I never did find out if he found out; but I have reason to think he did), and how I'd love to see him play, but always feel weird when I do, even though it was over 20 years ago , and they're divorced now anyway. But I've been going back and forth all day on whether to go or not because of that little "incident" all those years ago. At least her main man didn't "catch me here".....Don't know why I just told you all that, but I just thought it was freaky to get a post sent out specifically for me with that title when I really had been thinking about that a lot today.

Go, abq, go to the concert. Music trumps history.

3. Cap, I like this one -one of my alltime fave R&B songs, the Etta James version:

"I would rather go blind, girl,
Than to see you walk away from me..."

I used to sing this one, and if I ever perform again, it would be in my play list.

Aes...I had s similar situation come around to bite me nearly 30 years after the fact...I'd give it more thought...
