Did anybody watch the entire first season of "V" last year?
I watched the first four episodes and thought it was decent, but not great... I guess they cut the originally planned six down to four.

However, I completely missed the second half of the season (crazy work schedule, for one) and the show was renewed for a new season, which surprised me a bit. Should I catch up on the missing episodes via Hulu?

1. If you're into traditional sci-fi, then yes.

By that I mean it's not as mass-market friendly as other sci-fi series such as LOST or even BSG, it's rather "hard" science fiction with a strong amount of socio-political commentary. (I'd describe it as Dickian without the humor of PKD.) I was mildly surprised to see it renewed, not because it's bad but because I can't see it as ever being appealing to more than a niche audience.

It started weak and got better. I will say that much.

2. Thanks
that was a good summary. I'll have to see if last year is on Hulu at all.

3. Yes.
I had the same reaction to the first half of the season, but for some reason watched the second half. It still wasn't great, but it was markedly better than the first four episodes.

I've been down on losing some of my favorite shows the past few years and forgot about this one. Unless it catches on quickly, I'm not confident that it will go past this year, but I do think it's worth watching the rest of the season.

5. I watched the whole season...
and yes, I think you should watch the episodes that you missed. It got better as the season went on. I'm looking forward to the new season.
