Favorite name of a geographic place-
I vote for two:

Big Assawoman Bay &
Little Assawoman Bay

Both found near Ocean City, Maryland...and yes, those are the real names.

Oh Lake Titicaca, yes Lake Titicaca,
it's between Bolivia and Peru,
Oh Lake Titicaca, yes Lake Titicaca,
With waters so ???? and blue
Oh Lake Titicaca, yes Lake Titicaca,
Why do we sing of its fame?
Oh Lake Titicaca, yes Lake Titicaca,
Because we really like saying it's name!
Titicaca!

And of course, thats where The Great Cornholio is from.

Old railroad term - one of the places the Southern Pacific picked up their coal for the steam locomotives...

I know, pretty mundane. I liked the "sex act" explanation better.

Michigan has both a Hell and a Paradise, a Romulus and a Remus, a South Branch, North Branch and West Branch. Climax is near Kalamazoo and Crump is about 20 miles north of me.
John
And the high school teams in Brown City are the Green Devils.
ON EDIT: South Branch is the farthest north and North Branch is the farthest south. And West Branch is east of South Branch. Go fig.

55. Pe'epe'e Falls Road on the Big Island of Hawai'i
Very important: the 'okina, represented by an ', means a glottal stop, like in the middle of "uh-oh" (or "Trenton" or "New Britian" if you're from back East).

So, the road name is supposed to be pronounced "PAY-ay-PAY-ay".

Thing is, back in the day, the counties didn't bother to put 'okinas on their road signs...

61. Speaking of the Big Island-
what's the deal with those frogs from Puerto Rico? I had heard that they had been having some big-time problems in some areas.
My wife and I have been thinking about retirement on the Big Isle for quite awhile, and have been there a number of times- One of our all-time favourite scuba dives is still the Manta Ray Madness night dive.
I was a "migrant farm-worker" of sorts ;-) there in the early 80's, and even lived in a rental in Kalapana in that had spectacular views of the fire fountains at night, and a really great Queen's bath that wasn't too far away- it was a shame what Pele did to the town...
But anyway-
what's the deal with those frogs?
Also- I had also heard that there had been more rumblings on the kona side in recent years- is there any concern about any kind of eruption over there in the future?
The Big Island rocks.

65. Coqui frogs are really only a big-time problem by our standards
where even on O'ahu, the lead story today was a health insurance rate hike.

Only a few places have THAT many of them, we're working on ways to control them (like caffeine spray), and some people actually LIKE the noise (like crickets chirping, say).

Earlier in the year there was some speculation that Mauna Loa might go off again (hasn't since 1984). It's much farther from populated ares than Kilauea, though; it'd be a while before we'd be facing "Kalapana II".

Come on over! We could sure use more Dems here (Big Island also has an active Green party if that's your bag).
