Where can I go on the internet to find all the answers?
I'm serious guys. dawg is in need of some wisdom. I feel like I am at a crossroads in my life, and I don't know which way to turn. There are so many questions rattling around in my head. I just want to find some answers. I want to know what to do with the rest of my life.

I've tried asking friends. They don't know either. I've tried praying. That guy seems to be giving me the silent treatment. Besides, I kind of blame Him for letting my life get so messed up in the first place. I've asked my Mom, but she mostly gives me simplistic, plattitude-like answers.

So, how about it guys? Point me in the right direction.

1. Hey, I'm fifty-five, and I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up.
If you ever find all the answers, give me a call, mmmk?

3. Sadly ...
Google was of little help. Perhaps the answers aren't online at all.

7. He did say 'all the answers', didn't he?
In the set of "all the answers", I believe the subset of "wrong answers" is infinite, no?

6. Too bad I don't have a time machine.
I could just go back 10 years ago and ask myself. I had *all* the answers back then.

12. You came to the right place. Just ask me.
I was once told (and of course ignored it but kick myself in the ass every day) to find something you love and are passionate about and find a way to make money doing it.

Sounded too impossible to me at the time, but over the years, I have seen people who have done this with the strangest things. So really, think about what you love first.

14. That's actually pretty good advice.
I encourage my sons along those lines. It's far better to make a moderate income doing something you love than to make boatloads doing something you dread.

16. Although I never have made a boatload, take it from me,
you really should love what you do because you do it for a long long long time. Day in and day out.

I just read about a woman who quit her job and started teaching belly dancing. She used the hook that it was good exercise and has done well. I would never have thought you could make a living teaching belly dancing, but there you go.

18. If there is something you have always wanted to do, including job wise, volunteer
or create an internship for yourself. Go to that exact spot in the world you have dreamed about and get some good intel on what it takes to work, help out there.

Edited on Mon Sep-06-10 10:17 PM by Capn Sunshine
He had me call a friend of his, and next thing you know I'm visiting with a very accomodating and spiritual tribe known as the Yaqui in Extreme Southern Tierra Arizon ( aka Mexico) It involved this:

And this:

And this:

And This:

It wasn't all the answers, just a better perspective on which questions were really important.

22. I second the magic eight-ball site.
Myself, I sometimes flip a coin. (Really. I'm truly awful at making certain types of personal decisions. (Which made it a lot harder for me to learn to accept my own judgement in other areas.))

And (only) sometimes when I see the results, there comes this revealing rush of feeling... and I go with what that feeling tells me, not with the results of the coin flip.

Now, I may not make the right decision using this method, but at least it sometimes gives me a glimpse of what I feel deep down.
