1. When I lived in Germany in the mid-70's, Bonanza was the BIGGEST TV show worldwide...
.
.
.
...eventually overshadowed in relative popularity by "Baywatch" (go figger).
.
.
.
.
.
.
The FUNNIEST thing is that the actor who dubbed Hoss' words into German had a
fairly high squeaky voice.
.
.
.
.
.
.
I don't remember much about the show other than a vague recollection that it
had some interesting moral and ethical dilemmas at times -- more so and better
than your average drama of the time.

5. Germans seem to be obsessed with anything cowboy
or the American west.

I saw a story many years ago on 60 minutes about German cowboys.

This is not the 60 minutes video but it tell the story.

2.  A 50-year-old father and three 47-year-old sons
I thought it was canceled years ago. Did it move to cable?

3. HEY, KNOW WHAT?
My friends with the color television set were so lucky...
I dreamed of a color t.v., but we only had black and white.

Then... a few years passed and I decided that Pernell Roberts was just wearing black all that time anyway.

Here's to Dan Blocker, Lorne Greene Michael Landon Pernell Roberts... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2-zD5lj8Hg

Blocker said he portrayed the Hoss character with a Stephen Grellet excerpt in mind: "We shall pass this way on Earth but once, if there is any kindness we can show, or good act we can do, let us do it now, for we will never pass this way again."
