ok heres a situation
i am at walmart shopping
dont start with walmart this is ot about freaking walmart
i see my HOUSE on channel 2 news from a helicopter view
besides noting my pool needs a vaccuuming i learn a man down my street has drawn the bomb squads attention
i get home after having my papers checked several times to get on my street
and all the kerfluffel is at the next corner
i walk down to the cop at the barricade and while approaching 2 teen males around 17 or so join me
the cop can tell us nothing but we can see the bomb squad putting on heavy body armor
they ask our addresses and one teen lives in the other half of the duplex they are debombing
to the officer the kid says "if its my neighbor he is nuts.i have been torturing him with a (this part i am not sure of i swear he said hypersonic but damned if i know what that is)boombox" and that a week earlier he had to wrestle a machete away from him.
i went home and looked up the story on a website for one of the responding media assholes
the man is seriously mentally ill and has managed to live this long without crossing the line
i feel i have a duty to inform his attorney of the fact that his teen neighbor was indeed acting to "torture" his client
and that he said so to a police officer in front of a witness
there was no bomb just a confused man saying confused things and i question whether a criminal trial would be better for anyone than serious inpatient therapy
wish me luck here du
i dont want to see a sick man sent to prison and i am going to have to insert myself into what could easily be ignored
my grandmother told me that the hardest thing to do in most situations is the morally correct choice and she has proven right many times

1. My dear SwampG8r...
I'd say you need to talk to that unfortunate man's lawyer, as you do have information that could prove pivotal to the case.

I'm sure it's tough, but your grandmother had it right. Good luck!

2. Umm...anybody who's response to a teenager with a boombox requires a bomb squad needs to go away
For a long time, away from society.

But this whole story doesn't ring true in the slightest to me. You say there's a link on the web to this incident. I'd be interested in reading it.

3. here you go
because your opinion on my credibility is the gold standard
http://www.wesh.com/news/24815982/detail.html
this was written when the home had not been searched according to a satellite beach policeman i spoke with
no explosives were found just odd looking stuff the paramedics couldnt identify
call the satellite beach police department and ask for paul i imagine you want to hear it from himself
or you could just take my word for it

7. Sorry, I wasn't hitting refresh every 30 seconds
Thank you for the link.

I'm just jaded because I've seen too many people make up weird stories on the internet for no reason other than they're bored.

At least, as indicated by this exchange. I haven't seen your other 9 posts.

15. Ummm...people with mental illness
don't respond to things the way a normal person would. What may seem perfectly fine with you could set off the sensitivities of someone suffering from mental illness.

So, kind of give the sitch a little more thought, k?

6. I would hope
that the officer that the teen spoke to, would mention this statement in a report. Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought these situations require all kinds of reports from all in law enforcement who respond. Especially when it involved an assault, which should have been reported at the time it happened, by the teen or his family or whoever else witnessed it. I'm unclear on the details, did the teen wrestle the machete away, or the man whose house in being searched? Either way, it was a dangerous incident.

However, you were a witness to the comment, and yeah, someone should take note. But I'm not an attorney and have no experience in these matters. You might want to make sure that the police are aware of the statement - I think that they have to make police reports available to any defense attorney. Good luck.

8. Yes...
I agree...you do have a moral obligation to relate what you heard. I've seen several police reports, and they are often inaccurate or facts omitted for whatever reason. Perhaps you hold the key to proper treatment for this man.

Much admiration and respect...

peace~

16. Apparently the kid was using a boom box to aim load music at
the guy. Just speculation on my part, but pounding low notes that are below the hearing threshold can carry quite a ways. If you're already convinced that someone is trying to control your brain electronically and you feel a pulsing force with no apparent source....

The kid sounds like the jackasses that used to drive their cars across a neighbor's corner lot just to make him mad. My Dad was always afraid the guy would come out with a shot gun one night.
