What's the worst stretch of highway in America?
I'd have to say it's I-96 westbound between downtown Detroit and Middlebelt Road. I drive it every day and it's littered with more chuckholes per mile than any stretch of road I've ever been on. I'm just amazed when I make it in to work without suffering a blowout.

1. Actually, the Annual U.S. Spring Thaw Pothole Festival
is held on Route 9 north in Woodbridge, New Jersey.

18. Are they still tearing up
I35/I40/I44 interchange? I lived in OKC for five years, and they were working on it the whole time. I remember being told then, that the work had been going on for years already.

3. I-25 just south of Denver near the Tech Center.
Governor B.O. wants to widen it, but we need another lightrail line down that way. Fortunately they are building one.

10. I take that road on the way back
from deer hunting. It is 8 miles longer that way but there is a family owned cafe in Junction, Tx called Izaak's. It is the best breakfast diner I have ever been in. 3 over easy, ham, hash browns, toast, and coffee for $4.50. You get a lot and it is perfect every time. They have a homemade hot sauce that is superb.

12. Are you kidding? !-10 out west is MUCH more scenic that I-35 near Laredo!
The South Texas area is just an ugly eyesore. West Texas is far more scenic!

7. Route 3 in the Boston Suburbs
Route 3 north of Boston is two lanes of hell that stretches from 128 (95) to Southern New Hampshire. They are currently widening it.

Route 3 South of the city is often jammed with traffic in the summer, as it is the only way to Cape Cod for us city folks.

Then there is the Southeast Expressway, and 128, which are their own kind of hell, especially if you enjoy sitting in traffic for hours on end.

Especially with the whole bridge meltdown last week, where 120,000 people usually commute. YUCK.
