unsub. unsub. unsub. unsub. UNSUB. UNSUB! UNSUB!!!!

I hate all prime time crime dramas, and there are so many of them, no one knows exactly how many, CSI, CSI MIAMI, CSI NEW YORK, Law and order, etc, etc, but my least favorite one is Criminal Minds, or as I call it, the unsub show.

My wife loves these fucking shows, (and I love my wife), but to me they're all the same, and now they're on 24/7, and while they are on, my brain turns to mush.

What kills me about CM is the word 'unsub', meaning 'unknown subject'. CM is the ONLY show that uses this 'word', no other crime show uses it, and they use it way too fucking much. My son and I yell out the word unsub whenever the characters use it, and we also count them, like in a drinking game. Sometimes they use it 6 times in one minute, and we've counted the word unsub being used 26 times or more in a single episode, no joke.

What the fuck Criminal Minds? What the unsub fuck?

1. I understand your frustration with this show.

It takes itself way too seriously.

Watch Paget Brewster some time. I don't think she is much of an actress. She is there to be decorative. Notice how few speaking lines and interactions she has with the other characters. Maybe the writers and producers know that she has very little talent, so they compensate for this while keeping her busy.

There is still some mystery as to why Mandy Patinkin left the show. They say creative differences. He says that he despises TV violence. Well, that is one of the most gruesome shows on TV! How did he get involved with it in the first place? BTW, I love Patinkin. But this makes no sense.

4. I figured Patinkin left because the writing and directing was so bad.

It's gotten better since The Dread Pirate Mandy was there (at least judging by the random episodes I've seen), but it's still one of the worst written and directed of that type of shows. Even some of the low budget giggle-cop shows (The Glades, The Mentalist, The whatevers...) are better.

I cringe every time they say unsub, too. It's so awkward even the characters can't make it sound like the workplace jingo they pretend it is. Every time one of them says it, they seem too aware of how dumb it sounds.

That being said, I love Law and Order and NCIS. :-)
