Sunday Night on the Simpsons #2
I'm pretty sure tonight's episode was the weakest of the season. I didn't think there was anything so funny about Sarah Michelle Gellar at all.

A stupid gag they could've really done without was the whole Homer getting his shoe laces stuck in the elevator.

Also, they're going to re-air the episode where the Simpsons go to London. That's the one where Tony Blair guest starred.

Anyone have any comments. I give tonight's episode a 6/10.

1. Let's extend this thread to "Loser Guest Appearances on Simpsons"
My vote: Ron Howard.

3. with your username I imagine the bar for Ronnie was pretty
high! However, I agree - that episode sucked -even if Ronnie was well conceived by the artists.

5. They have too many to count...
At least they used Sarah Michelle Gellar fairly well. I mean, they could've just thrown here in there playing herself for like a 5 second gag that isn't funny.

2. WINNER Simpson guest appearances:
#1 with a bullet HAS to be John Waters.

I liked Sarah Gilbert from "Roseanne" too as the older neighborhood girl Bart has a crush on.

4. The ending was funny...
With Charles Napier in a guest starring role... :-) I'd give it a 7.5/10. It had its moments...

The 2nd episode, on now, is the repeat of the VERY disappointing trip to England. It had some good jokes, but with Matt Groening being a Dr Who fan and all, I was appalled that this episode, which originally aired on Nov 23 2003, has nary a reference!! This one was 4/10.

6. Didn't see the episode yet
Taped it along with other "FOX Laugh-Out-Loud" Sunday programs. Btw, I'm not a big fan of that new slogan.

I have seen the one from Britain, but I won't spoil it for those who are still watching it.

Is Sarah Michelle Gellar still popular? I haven't see any of her since "Buffy" went off the air. Fyi, I believe Gellar and her husband Freddie Prinze, Jr. are Republicans.

7. Republicans!
That's a shame. I knew there was something intangible about the episode I didn't like.

About the "Laugh Out Loud" slogan, I don't care for it either.

10. I hardly laugh on FOX Sundays
"Malcolm in the Middle" and "KOTH" are past their primes. "Arrested Development" is probably the second best, of course behind "The Simpsons".

Overall, FOX seems to be having a tough year. The ratings are down for a lot of their programs. The only traditional shows that get good decent ratings are "Simpsons", "24", "That 70's Show", and "The O.C.". Their Friday night efforts with "Luis" and "Wanda at Large" fell flat. "Tru Calling" fared only slightly better.

I guess FOX relies more on "American Idol" and the odd reality programs.

Sorry if I hijacked your thread. :)

11. Fox
I really don't understand why any of the networks bother programming Friday nights. That's a TV dead air time. "King of the Hill" and "The Simpsons" are the only two programs I watch and the new episodes of both have consistently been stinkers for the past two years. Local stations air both programs through syndication during the week and honestly, I'd rather watch the older episodes than waste my time with the embarassing crap they throw together each week. I miss the old Fox days when they included such shows as "Get A Life", "In Living Color", "Married With Children", and "The Ben Stiller Show". Hard to believe that Fox was once funny and daring.

13. Sad to say...
They may not be as fun and daring as they used to be, but they may still be the most bold broadcast network out there. I mean, my god, compare them to the cluelessness of ABC, NBC, and CBS.

HBO is the most hip, happening network on today and most people in this country (believe it or not) can't afford it!

12. I've fallen pretty far behind lately
My schedule hasn't been fitting in, and I haven't taped because I haven't heard of a particular episode that made me tape. Well, I'll have some re-runs to see. :-)
