I was walking back from a casino, and a couple guys tried to jump me.

I realized it was happening when the guy talking to me tried to adjust my facing to keep my back open to his partner trying to come up from behind.

I got right in the middle of the street and squared off. By choosing the ground I also forced their back to cars coming at them. And the added situational distractions apply to everyone equally.

If outnumbered, situational obsticals become a factor that helps the weaker side, they remove equally from everyone, and since total strength of many opponents is more then a few, they effectively work as AOEs


Although nihilist use that same tactic.
