I made a LOST mix CD
Chains and Things -- BB King
Leavin' On Your Mind -- Patsy Cline
Redemption Song -- Bob Marley
Shambala -- Three Dog Night
Everyday -- Buddy Holly
Downtown -- Petula Clark
Impromptu in C-Sharp Minor -- Chopin
Un bel di Vedremo -- Puccini
Good Vibrations -- Beach Boys
These Arms of Mine -- Otis Redding
I Wonder -- Brenda Lee
La Mer -- Charles Trenet
I Feel Like Going Home -- Muddy Waters
She's Got You -- Patsy Cline
Make Your Own Kind of Music -- Cass Elliot
Catch a Falling Star -- Perry Como
Walkin' After Midnight -- Patsy Cline
Are You Sure -- Willie Nelson
Moonlight Serenade -- Willie Nelson
Bird on a Wire -- Leonard Cohen

(I know the last one wasn't in the show, but it was in the promos and it was PERFECT.)

Am I missing anything?

1. "The Village Lanterne", Blackmore's Night
Not in the show, but eerily appropriate for the finale. My wife (who runs a Terry O'Quinn fan site) has it on a Lost mix cd that she received last year.

Also, don't forget "Wonderwall", by Oasis. Charlie played while busking outside Widmore's office building. Of course, Charlie is heavily based on Noel Gallagher (Britpop, from Manchester, brother named Liam, dysfunctional relationships, etc).

5. Why do we like Terry so much?
With all the hot young actors on the show, grizzled old Terry stands out as a star. ("Grizzled" and "old" used cautiously, as I'm just as grizzled and old as he is).

He just seems like a cool guy to have around.

6. He's refreshingly different
The fiftysomething everyman turned badass.

I always thought that ABC missed the point by trying to pressure JJ Abrams and his team into making Jack the focus of the show. Matthew Fox is a typical, bland, dime a dozen lead. The suits never figured out that the fans preferred the offbeat characters like Locke, Ben, Hurley, Desmond, and Charlie. Sawyer was the one guy who bridged the gap, the sickeningly good looking wise-ass.

7. I think it's one of the charms of the show that Jack and Kate are so boring
That being said, Kate could have been interesting with a few tweaks, but I think TPTB just LIKED her too much.

I mean, Claire was totally sweet and harmless until she went crazy and hooked up with the smoke monster.

That's the kind of character development that Kate could have used. :P

on his walkman. It was played at the end of either the 2nd or 3rd episode.

I looked it up, it's played at the end of the 3rd episode of the 1st season.
