1. My dear MiddleFingerMom...
When I was a little girl, I decided I wanted to be a nurse. And when I grew up, I still wanted it, so I did...

It was not exactly what I'd thought it would be, so once I could retire, I did...

And then I decided I wanted to be a poet.

I think this one will work out...

:hi:

2. Rockandroll star, baseball player, hockey player (in no particular order)
Never changed my mind about any of em, but quickly found out I wasn't gonna be good enough for the sports ones.....Fell far short on the other one more due to lack of focus and self discipline rather than ability. Never found anything better though, so kept trying long after I should have given up.

4. I wanted to be Superman
found out through a rigorous genealogy search that I wasn't Kryptonian, so that was the end of that.

I really did want to be Superman, or a superhero of some sort, running around helping people, and protecting them from the bad guys.

And I did. I raised them, showed them, took care of other people's horses. And it wore me out. Now I cannot physically do the work anymore; though I still have horses, I have to have someone else do the day to day work. Getting old sucks.

19. An Activism, PR and Development specialist.
Edited on Thu Aug-05-10 08:14 AM by Chan790
I am all of those things, they're just not paying me for it. I could be and have been before (paid, that is.) but I like being able to pick and choose what I'm promoting and who I work with. Paid activism frequently means strange bedfellows, so to speak, especially if you're not executive level and involved in those decisions. I also prefer smaller organizations and causes that couldn't afford me full-time.

I'm giving a lot of thought to starting my own firm...I have a niche, I'm a great deal more in-your-face with message and avant-garde in my campaign-design than most people in this field; we're going to bring Madison Ave. quality to the public interest masses too. If you've ever looked at an activism campaign and thought "Wow that's offensive, but I'm motivated to support that cause more than ever." and you're still thinking it 3 days later, that's the sort of work we're going to aim to do. I don't care about offending you, I just want you to act.

So, I majored in advertising and then became a journalist instead. Haven't done that for about 10 years, though.

At uni, I soon turned to statistics. So I'm a biostatistician. Doesn't pay as much as being a brain surgeon but I don't have to deal with smelly, nasty patients. I get to be the smelly, nasty one!!
