Very cool sketchbook art project:

Heidi, I and a few friends just entered it. If you write, sketch, doodle, craft, etc., you may find this very interesting.

2. My dear Call Me Wesley, and Heidi too!
I would be interested in doing this, if I can contribute my poetry.

It seems as though this project is mostly for graphic art...paintings, drawings, and the like.

Am I wrong?

I read the rules, and didn't see anything about written art.

Can you clarify?

Thanks!

It looks great!

:hi:

4. Text, paintings, doodlings, collages, all is welcomed.
Everything goes, so you'd be just fine filling it up with your poetry.

The only things that are not permitted is hazardous material or stuff that easily breaks since people will check it out, open it and read through. Glitter's amongst there, too, but I don't think you'll use much of glitter, do you? ;)

:hi:

Have it digitized, either when you order it or when you submit it so it'll be put on the site and will be browseable.

7. Glitter? Me?
Lol!

How do I digitize my poetry? I'm a complete dunce when it comes to this sort of thing.

I write it on my Word Perfect program...is that what you mean by digitize?

Thanks!

:hi:

8. They'll digitize it for you,
aka scan your sketchbook in, so it'll be in both formats available - on the exhibit in physical form and on the website.

It's $25.-- more if you order it.

And I'm glad about the non-glitter. ;)

10. Oh, OK...
Thanks! It'll be easier for me to just pay them...

Yeah, I'm glad about the glitter too, LOL!

3. That looks very interesting....
will read up on it at the site later this evening when I have more time. Thanks for the link. May actually enter, have several full sketch books and am about a third of the way through the latest one.

5. Nice!
I'm sure we'll have fun with it. And we got two graphic artists to sign up as well.

I do have this kind of sketchbook already, and my markers bleed through heavily, so I either have to leave one page always blank, glue another page in there or bind the whole thing with different paper - you can take it apart, just leave the cover intact. :)

6. That's a fantastic project!
I'm in the middle of moving, but I'll be settled by October, and that will give me more than enough time to sign up.

11. I'm signing my daughter up.
Now we'll have an excuse to go to Brooklyn in February.

I would never hear of this kind of stuff outside DU.

Thanks!

12. I heard about it first outside DU. ;)
Actually, from a friend (and member of DU who never posted so far,) so kudos to him.

I hope your daughter will have fun! It's a great project, and I fully support these kinds of ideas. :hi:
