After 80 weeks of unemployment, hubby finally has a job (sort of)!
Hi all,
Just wanted to share some good news. After 80 weeks of unemployment, my husband finally has a job and the salary isn't horribly bad. Ironically, it is with the same company that laid him off in 2008. The not so great news is that it's an 8 week contract and no guarantee of extension. But given that his benefits were about to expire, it's something.

The only question is, after that 2 month contract, if there's no more work, what happens with the unemployment? Does he go back on?

Thanks

Paula

2. Not sure about the unemployment, but Congrats to your
husband and the old adage is true. "It's always easier to find a job when you have a job." Hope it leads to something more stable.

3. depends on the state to collect again
I believe that in NJ you must have worked 20 out of the previous 52 weeks. It varies in other states, some you must have worked 2 quarters, etc. Google the unemployment office in your state to find out, but I doubt 8 weeks will qualify anywhere
